Welcome to Avant-Garde Press!
The for-profit media has failed. We need simply look at the abject failures in coverage of the Russo-Ukrainian War, the East Palestine Pollution Disaster, or the recent French Anti-Pension Reform protests. The simple reality is that corporate, for profit media will naturally support capital at the expense of the viewers.
Or put more succulently: The Revolution will not be televised.
It’s time to change the way we do things.
Avant-Garde Press is a not-for-profit media collective of Canadian Socialists sharing news and leftist content. We’ll discuss a range of subjects and interests, including socialist activism, media from the left point of view, and Antifascism.
Values
Avant-Garde Press believes absolutely in anti-fascism, LGBTQS2 rights and Indigenous Land Back. Publications submitted to the editor must reflect these core values.

Writer: Garth Iorgy
“Garth Iorgy is just a name. It's just a dumb play on words built around a lesser known Toronto Blue Jays utility player from the 1980s. But I am also a dedicated sports fan who is willing to call out the hypocrisy in sports without the repercussions of losing access to sources or being fired by corporate media. I'm opinionated, strongly leftist and will always punch up in my work. I want to make the world a better place and that world still involves sports. I feel sports can be a vessel for change but it can also unveil corruption. I'll be discussing both on this site.”
